Gun barrel production line

Gun barrel production line

Modern efficient concept of gun barrel production line based on rifling extrusion by cold forming proces. Supply of complete technology include line tests and staff training.

Complete barrels production line with rifling extrusion technology consists of:

- drilling

- reaming

- polishing

- rifling

- vacuum annealing

- final operations on the lathe

Drilling Machine (3 spindle) – Deep hole drilling of the hole by gun-barrel drill. Drilling of three
barrels at the same time. During machining the blank barrel rotates and gun drill moves into
the material

reaming1

Reaming Machine (6 spindle) – Reaming of six barrels at the same time. Reaming is used to
achieve better quality of surface in requested geometrical hole tolerance. On this machine
the rotation is by a tool (reamer) and main feed by a barrel blank.

Polishing Machine (1 spindle) – Very simple and efficient machine with high productivity.
The machine is used for polishing of inner diameter after reaming. It works on the principle of
polishing by means of sand paper. Rotation is by a polishing tool and by a barrel blank, feed by
a polishing tool.

Rifling.jpg

Rifling Machine (1 spindle) – Machine working on the principle of rifle extrusion by cold
forming process by means of a forming (rifling) tool pushed through the pre-drilled hole. When
pushing the rifling tool by pushing rod the tool starts to rotate due to its special geometry and
passes through barrel. Extrusion has high productivity and excellent quality comparable to
other rifle production methods.

Vacuum Annealing Furnace – Annealing vacuum furnace is used before machining on CNC
lathe for eliminating of inside stress in a material after rifling.
CNC Turret Lathe (1spindle) – CNC lathe for machining of outer diameter of barrel blank and
inner diameter and chamber. Turret with 12 positions, life tools, C-axis and Y-axis, steady rest
and tailstock. The exact technical specification depends on a type of the barrel.
